Marla Frazee is a writer and illustrator of children’s books. She sees the world as a place full of feelings, including everything from love to loneliness. Marla says that she doesn’t think being a kid is any easier than being a grownup because the feelings we have while living our lives are much the same. All of these feelings come alive in the books that Marla writes and illustrates because that is how she makes sense of a big, complicated world. Marla graduated from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, and she has now been teaching children’s book illustration there for 20 years. She has always lived in and around Los Angeles.
Marla is the author and illustrator of A Couple of Boys Have the Best Week Ever, which received a Caldecott Honor Award and a Boston Globe-Horn Book Honor. She is also the author and illustrator of The Boss Baby. She has illustrated many books, including the New York Times bestselling Stars, the New York Times bestselling and Caldecott Honor Award book All the World, and the New York Times bestselling Clementine series. Liz Garton Scanlon is a writer of children’s books from Austin, Texas. Inspired by her daughters, Liz writes for children because it gives her hope and happiness. In her free time, she likes to read and travel. Since she does not consider herself an artist, Liz works with many of the best illustrators of children’s books like Marla Frazee, Robin Preiss Glasser, Arthur Howard, Vanessa Newton, and Stephanie Graegin.

David Shannon is the author and illustrator of many books for children. He grew up in Spokane, Washington and graduated from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California with a fine arts degree. David often uses incidents and people from his own life in his writing. In addition to his work on children’s books, David’s illustrations have appeared in The New York Times, TIME, Rolling Stone, and on numerous book jackets. David and his wife currently live in Los Angeles.
David is the author and illustrator of the bestselling Caldecott Honor Book No, David!. Other bestselling, award-winning books written and illustrated by David include A Bad Case of Stripes, Alice the Fairy, and The Rain Came Down.
